Bengaluru EV Maker Simple Energy Forays into Family Scooter Segment with Feature-Packed ‘Simple Wave’ Range

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer Simple Energy has officially expanded its portfolio beyond high-performance two-wheelers by entering India’s mass-market family electric scooter segment. Shifted away from the aggressive, sharp styling of its flagship models, the company has unveiled the all-new Simple Wave range. The new series focuses on practical ergonomics, generous utility, and long-distance city riding, with prices starting at an accessible ₹1,09,999 (ex-showroom).

The Simple Wave lineup offers versatility by spreading across three distinct models—the Simple Wave S, Simple Wave, and Simple Wave+—available in up to six variant configurations. The base Simple Wave S comes with either a 2.2 kWh or 2.7 kWh battery pack, generating a top speed of 75 km/h and an IDC-claimed range of up to 132 km. Stepping up to the mid-tier Simple Wave brings a 3.7 kWh battery delivering a 171 km range and a 90 km/h top speed. The flagship Simple Wave+ features a massive 5.0 kWh battery pack, delivering a segment-leading claimed range of up to 243 km on a single charge and accelerating from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

Engineered with daily household utility in mind, the Simple Wave lineup introduces a class-leading total storage capacity of 70 litres. This includes a 63-litre underseat boot spacious enough for two helmets, alongside a novel side-mounted 4-litre “Pill” storage compartment for quick-access items. Comfort is prioritized through a 920 mm extra-long seat, a flat floorboard, and a twin-shock rear suspension setup designed to easily absorb rough city roads.

Technology and safety remain key focal points across the range, with higher variants equipped with a 7-inch TFT display featuring turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and OTA updates, while entry variants utilize a clear multi-segment LCD console. Rider aids include a Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Hold Assist, Crawl Mode, and remote tracking via the Simple Connect smartphone app. Positioned to rival established models like the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak, deliveries for the Simple Wave series are set to begin on September 25, 2026.
