SPOILER ALERT:

The following analysis contains major spoilers for the theatrical re-release of Avengers: Endgame Encore, as well as alleged plot leaks and post-credit breakdowns for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. Proceed at your own risk!

Seven years after Joe and Anthony Russo brought the Infinity Saga to an emotional conclusion, Marvel Studios has officially reopened the vault. The theatrical arrival of Avengers: Endgame Encore isn’t just a simple victory lap for the highest-grossing superhero film of all time—it serves as the connective tissue bridging Phase 3 directly into the multiversal chaos of Phase 6. Packed with newly added scenes and game-changing post-credits sequences, this enhanced re-release directly sets the stage for Avengers: Doomsday. Meanwhile, massive internet plot leaks surrounding Robert Downey Jr.’s return to Marvel have sent the fandom into hyperdrive. Here is a complete breakdown of what Endgame Encore changes, how the latest leaks connect, and the wild fan theories rewriting everything we thought we knew about the MCU.

The Big Additions in Avengers: Endgame Encore

Rather than altering the main narrative of the 2019 film, Avengers: Endgame Encore introduces brand-new bonus sequences after the film’s climax that completely reframe key characters’ endings. The additions offer a chilling glimpse into the unraveling multiverse:

• Bruce Banner’s Abduction: In a new mid-credits scene following his appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Bruce Banner is shown isolating himself in a underground military bunker, working on a gamma-stabilizing serum. The calm is shattered when Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom steps out of the shadows, uttering a menacing line: “I’ve come to collect you,” before taking the scientist captive.
• Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter Interrupted: The beloved slow-dance ending between Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter gets a startling extension. A knock at their door reveals Loki in his Time Variance Authority (TVA) uniform, warning Captain America that remaining in an alternate timeline carries dire consequences for the wider multiverse.
• The Collapsing Multiverse: A terrifying TVA sequence shows Mobius, Casey, and Ouroboros in a panic as monitors reveal 3,000 parallel universes colliding simultaneously during an Incursion event—a subtle nod to Tony Stark’s iconic phrase—with whole realities vanishing before their eyes.
• The Masking of Doctor Doom: In a scene echoing Tony Stark forging the Mark I armor in a cave, Doctor Doom is seen hammering out his iconic iron mask, a sequence detailed further on Marvel’s Official News.

Breaking Down the Avengers: Doomsday Leaks

The internet was recently rocked by extensive plot leaks detailing how Doctor Doom functions as the central threat in Phase 6. According to circulating reports, Doom isn’t merely looking to destroy the multiverse—he is attempting to harvest collapsing timelines to build his own domain, Battleworld, mirroring the iconic Secret Wars comic arc.

The leaks claim that Steve Rogers’ decision to stay in the past with Peggy inadvertently created a localized temporal anchor that triggered a cascade of Incursions. Doom exploits these cosmic collapses to orchestrate high-stakes confrontations between different factions, setting up an explosive clash between Earth-616’s Avengers and legacy characters like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four before they realize they are being manipulated.

Game-Changing Fan Theories for Phase 6

With these new post-credits teasers and leaked plot details in hand, Marvel fans across Reddit’s Marvel Studio Community have constructed compelling theories on how these pieces fit together:

1. The “World-Breaker Hulk” Extraction

Why does Doctor Doom kidnap Bruce Banner? The leading theory suggests Doom requires the massive energy output of a gamma-irradiated organism to power a reality-splicing device. By stripping Smart Hulk of his intellect and unleashing a raw, primal “World-Breaker” variant, Doom might use Banner as a living engine to tear open pathways between parallel Earths.

2. Steve Rogers is the Catalyst for Incursions

For years, fans wondered how Steve Rogers lived a quiet life without breaking the rules of the sacred timeline. The Encore cut reveals that his presence did have consequences. Theorists believe that Cap’s alternate reality became ground zero for an early Incursion. Loki’s intervention isn’t just a friendly visit—he may be attempting to extract Steve before Doctor Doom razes that universe entirely to forge Battleworld.

3. The Iron Man Mask Mirroring

The visual homage of Doom forging his mask with heavy hammer strikes directly mirrors Tony Stark’s origin. Theorists believe this is Marvel’s way of establishing psychological warfare: Victor Von Doom may be a variant who physically resembles Tony Stark, using that familiar face to disarm and manipulate Avengers like Thor and Rhodey before delivering a devastating strike.

What Comes Next for the Multiverse Saga?

The additions in Avengers: Endgame Encore prove that Marvel Studios is pulling out all the stops to make Avengers: Doomsday a monumental event. By connecting classic Infinity Saga beats to the looming threat of Victor Von Doom, the Russo brothers are setting the stage for a multiversal war where no timeline is safe. As fans head back to theaters to experience Endgame on the big screen once more, one thing is clear: the road to Doomsday has officially begun.

How Doom Built Battleworld in the Comics

In Jonathan Hickman’s acclaimed 2015 Secret Wars comic run, the multiverse is dying due to Incursions—catastrophic events where parallel Earths collide, destroying both universes.

(Rules supreme over rewritten memories)

1. Destroying the Godlike Beyonders: Realizing the omnipotent Beyonders are causing the collapse, Doom plans a preemptive strike. Using Molecule Man (Owen Reece) as a reality-altering conduit, Doom detonates a chain reaction that kills the Beyonders.
2. Siphoning Omnipotence: Molecule Man absorbs the Beyonders’ godlike cosmic energy and channels it directly into Doom.
3. Stitching the Patchwork Planet: With the multiverse completely destroyed, Doom uses his new godhood to grab lingering remnants of smashed realities and stitch them together into a single planet—Battleworld.
4. God Emperor Doom: Doom rewrites the memories of its inhabitants. On Battleworld, he is worshipped as a deity, Doctor Strange serves as his High Sheriff, and a legion of Thor variants functions as his police force (the Thor Corps).

How MCU Leaks Claim Doom Builds Battleworld

According to circulating industry leaks for Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Studios is adapting the core spirit of the comic storyline while tailoring it to MCU lore:

• Siphoning Yggdrasil & Loki’s Power: Instead of the Beyonders, leaks suggest Doom sets his sights on Loki, the God of Stories. At the end of Loki Season 2, Loki weaves the timeline branches together into the Yggdrasil tree. Allegedly, Doom breaches the TVA, neutralizes Loki, and harvests the raw temporal-multiversal energy flowing through the tree.
• Exploiting Earth-616 Incursions: Leaks detail that Doom positions himself as a savior to the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, proposing devices to “stabilize” colliding Earths. In reality, Doom allows the Incursions to reach a breaking point so he can wipe the slate clean.
• The Sudden Ending Shock: Multiple leaks point to Avengers: Doomsday ending with a dark twist: the multiverse completely collapses, and the movie abruptly transitions to reveal Battleworld is already created.
• Rewritten Realities: The surviving heroes from Earth-616, Earth-828 (Fantastic Four’s world), and the Fox X-Men universe wake up trapped inside Doom’s new reality with scrambled memories—setting up the resistance effort for Avengers: Secret Wars.
